BIOGRAFY
 

The Proffecor, Michael Crysanthopoulos, was born in Thessaloniki in 1966, where he finishes his primary education. He studied Theology and History in Belgrade, Sofia, Moschow and Thessaloniki. He taught Theology, Iconography and History in academic years 1992-1993 and 1993-1994 at Anatolia College of Thessaloniki and at Hellenic College of Thessaloniki in 1994-1995. He was director of the Secretariat of the History of «Pan-Macedonian Union of Thessaloniki», which was connected to the corresponding institute of Australia, with its seat in Melbourne. He is a member of the Student’s Coordination Committee for Northern Epirus’s Rights, the cultural association «Makednos», the «Macedonian Movement for the Solidarity of the Cypriot People», former Secretary General of the Pan-Hellenic Association of Descendents of the Macedonian Freedom Fighters of Macedonian –Thrace and the Macedonian Studies. Now he is the President-Commander of the Pammacedonian Union of the Macedonian Struggle Greece – Australia. He is a teacher, theologian-historian. He is fluent in Serbian, Bulgarian, Russian, Croatian, Slovenian, Czech, the dialect of the country of Skopje, English, and knows Old Church Slavonic. He holds a Master’s degree in «Church History and Dogmatic Theology» from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Theological School).

He has a degree in journalism from the Varosha Workshop of Free Studies Schools. He has been a correspondent for Australia’s S.B.S satellite stations, headquartered in Melbourne, for 18 years and 4 years for Radio Symban-Sydney. He has collaborated with many stations (private stations such as the former Sky station and Antenna, for which he was involved in war reporting from Kosovo) and for a decade he had his own show on local stations in Thessaloniki entitled «At the Centre of Events». He also had a radio show by the same name on the station « Radio Akrites» for five years. He has written many articles on national issues, particularity the Macedonian Question, in historically oriented periodicals in Thessaloniki. His articles and excepts from his books are found in encyclopedias an historical studies.

Ο Χρυσανθόπουλος Μιχαήλ γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη τα 1966, όπου και τελείωσε τις εγκύκλιες σπουδές του.

Σπούδασε Θεολογία και Ιστορία στη Θεσσαλονίκη, στο Βελιγράδι, στη Σόφια και την Μόσχα και Δημοσιογραφία στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Διετέλεσε καθηγητής στο Ελληνικό Κολλέγιο Θεσσαλονίκης, στο Αμερικανικό Κολλέγιο Θεσσαλονίκης «ΑΝΑΤΟΛΙΑ», καθώς και σε σχολεία της Σαντορίνης, της Καστοριάς και της Θεσσαλονίκης. Είναι καθηγητής Ιστορίας και συνεργάζεται με το Αυστραλιανό Ινστιτούτο Μακεδονικών Σπουδών και το Πανεπιστήμιο «LA TROBE» της Μελβούρνης. Είναι μέλος της Αυστραλιανής Ομοσπονδίας Δημοσιογράφων, ενώ εργάσθηκε ως Δημοσιογράφος-Ανταποκριτής στο S.B.S Μελβούρνης επί 20 χρόνια, καθώς και σε κανάλια της Θεσσαλονίκης που ήταν υπεύθυνος με δικές του εκπομπές, τόσο στο ραδιόφωνο, όσο και στην τηλεόραση. Μέλος του «Μακεδνός», της «Ε.Μ.Σ» σε δεκάδες σωματεία και συλλόγους, πρώην γενικός γραμματέας του Πανελλήνιου Συλλόγου Απογόνων Μακεδονομάχων, της Παμμακεδονικής Ελλάδος και τώρα Πρόεδρος της Παμμακεδονικής Ένωσης Μακεδονικού Αγώνα Ελλάδος-Αυστραλίας Pammacedonian Union of the Macedonian Struggle Greece – Australia, καθώς και πρώην Πρόεδρος του Συνδέσμου Τραυματιών και Εφέδρων Πολεμιστών Ν. Θεσσαλονίκης.

Έχει δεκάδες βιβλία ιστορικού περιεχομένου και δύο Θεολογικά. Έχει μεταφράσει τα θεολογικά βιβλία του Αγίου (πλέον) Σέρβου Θεολόγου Ιουστίνου Πόποβιτς, καθώς και του Ρώσου θεολόγου Νικολάϊ Αρσενιέφ από τα Σερβικά και τα Ρωσικά αντίστοιχα. Μιλάει Σερβικά, Βουλγαρικά, Ρωσικά τη διάλεκτο των Σκοπίων, Τσέχικα, Πολωνικά, Ουκρανικά, τα παλαιά Σλαβονικά και Αγγλικά. Έχει γράψει πάνω από 300 άρθρα ιστορικού περιεχόμενου στην εφημερίδα «Μακεδονία» και σε άλλα έντυπα και εγκυκλοπαίδειες (Η μεγάλη Εγκυκλοπαίδεια «Η ΔΙΑΣΠΟΡΑ» φιλοξενεί μεγάλα τμήματα των Βιβλίων του). Παράλληλα είναι αγιογράφος επί 34 χρόνια, με έργα σε όλο τον κόσμο και κυρίως σε Αμερική και Αυστραλία, ενώ πολλοί πίνακες ιστορικού περιεχομένου φέρουν το όνομά του. Έκανε 14 εκθέσεις και διακόσμησε τα βιβλία «Η ΖΩΗ ΤΟΥ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥ», «ΣΤΟΝ ΚΑΙΡΟ ΤΟΥ ΒΟΥΛΓΑΡΟΚΤΟΝΟΥ», από τις εκδόσεις Ρηγόπουλου. Μερικά από τα ιστορικά του έργα–πίνακες είναι δωρεές στις Ένοπλες Δυνάμεις, ενώ τιμήθηκε με πολλά μετάλλια και διακρίσεις.

LIST OF WORKS

He has translated seven theological works by the Serbian theologian, Archimandrite Justin Popovic, from Serbian to Greek. He translated Nicholas Arseniev’s «The Only Source of life» from Russian to Greek. He has coauthored the following historical works (all in Greek): Jesus Christ the Historical Person» (2 volumes). Hellenism in Republic of Skopje (An Initial Approach)», «The History of Hellenism in Republic of Skopje» (3 volumes), Hellenism in Republic of Skopje in the Art of iconography» (2 volumes), «Greeks in Northern Macedonian: The History of Hellenism in the State of Skopje», «Ochrid, Then and Now», «A Brief History of Ochrid»(2 volumes), «The Bulgarian Schism», «Icon of God», «The Macedonia File: The Greek Minority in the FYROM under Bondage» (5 volumes), and others.

He has been an iconographer-painter for 26 years. He painted the murals in the church of the Holy Apostles Peter an Paul in the Reserve Infantry Officers’ School in Heraklion, Grete. He has had a total of 14 iconography-painting shows (10 individual and four collective). For the last seven years, he has painted historical figures from Greek history and their lives and historical periods (Greek-Persian Wars, Alexander the Great, Basil II the Bulgar-Slayer, Romanos Diogenes, Papaflessas, Pavlos Melas, Captain Kottas, the Asia Minor campaign-battles, the Asia Minor catastrophe Chrysostomos of Smyrna). He donated the last four of these works to the Cadet school ) Pavlos Melas), the 15ht Brigade of Kastoria (Captain Kottas) and the 1st Army of Larissa (the Asia Minor campaign-battles, the Asia Minor catastrophe Chrysostomos of Smyrna). His works are found in the U.S.A, Europe, Australia and portable icons are located in private residences and churches. He did the illustrations for the aforementationed translated works and the new edition of P.S. Delta’s book «the Life of Christ». He ran a school iconography and painting together with his mother, who was a teacher in the School of Fine Arts in Athens. He has been honoured with distinctions diplomas and medals from Army, many Clubs and Associations. He is a Armor-Officer of the Greek Army in the reserve (Major).
